Coronavirus crisis: No more cases in Rutland today, but Lincolnshire passes a major milestone

Rutland officially reported no more cases of coronavirus today.

According to NHS England, the county has 28 confirmed cases.

This gives Rutland a rate of 70.5 cases per 100,000 of population- the fourth best rate of districts across England.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus crisis in Lincolnshire has now topped 1000.

NHS England says the county now has 1,002 confirmed cases, an increase of six on yesterday.

This gives Lincolnshire a rate of 132.6 cases per 100,000 of population, which is just over half the England average of 250.6 cases per 100,000 people, based on its 140,275 cases.

In our region, Melton reported three more cases at 60, giving it a rate of 117.4.

North Kesteven remained on 127 (109.5).

Peterborough increased by 14, putting it on 176.6.

South Holland remained on 184 (195.8).

South Kesteven increased by four to 152.

Across the UK, the number of confirmed cases increased by 3,446 to 233,151.

The number of deaths increased 428 to 33,614.

Lincolnshire reported just one further coronavirus-related death in the last 24 hours today.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said the victim was an 83-year-old man with underlying conditions. His death put their total up to 122 fatalities.

Altogether, 185 people have died across Lincolnshire's hospitals and care homes, rising to 271 patients for the Greater Lincolnshire area – when Northern Lincolnshire and Goole figures are taken into account.

No more deaths were reported for Rutland.
