Hundreds of Rutland firms have still to apply for government cash to help them get through the coronavirus crisis.

Rutland County Council is calling on local businesses to come forward if they have been impacted by COVID-19 and are eligible to receive financial support.

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has set out a package of measures to help businesses through the current period of disruption caused by COVID-19. This includes:

· A Small Business Grant Fund (SBGF) of £10,000 for all businesses who receive small business rate relief or rural rate relief

A Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund (RHLGF) of £10,000 for businesses who receive the Expanded Retail Discount and have a rateable value of less than £15,000

Rutland County Council has already paid out £8.6million of COVID-19 grant funding to 732 local businesses.

The Council estimates that a further 200 local businesses are eligible for financial support but yet to claim a grant.

Those who believe their business is eligible to receive one of these grants, you should submit their details online on the council website so it can process your payment as quickly as possible.

Businesses should only provide details if they meet the government's eligibility criteria.
