Final reminder for Rutland residents to check voter details

People in Rutland are being reminded to take part in this year's annual canvass of electors and respond as soon as possible, so they can vote in future elections.

Household enquiry forms will start arriving at all homes in the next week as part of the annual canvass.

This is so Rutland County Council can keep the electoral register up to date and identify anyone not currently signed up to vote.

Helen Briggs, Electoral Registration Officer at Rutland Country Council, said: "Please keep an eye on the post and respond to the annual canvass as soon as possible, so that we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in Rutland.

"This will also ensure you can take part in future elections, such as next year's vote for a new Police and Crime Commissioner.

"It's important that everyone takes part."

If you are not registered to vote your name will not appear on the household enquiry form.

The easiest way to register is online - click the red button below - where you can complete an electronic application.

Voter application forms can also be supplied by post.

If you have not yet registered to vote you do still need to complete your household enquiry form as well.

Anyone who has recently moved house should pay close attention to the form and check their details carefully.

Recent home movers are far less likely to be registered than those who have lived at an address for a long time.

If you have any questions about the canvass or registering to vote contact Rutland County Council's Elections Team by emailing [email protected].
