More than 700 revellers attended an illegal rave held on farmland in Whissendine on Sunday (3 Nov).

Leicestershire Police attended after receiving a report at 12.10am that the party was underway at land off Stapleford Road.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson told Oakham Nub News: "Officers were made aware of a report of an illegal rave.

"Officers attended the location and remained there to prevent anyone gaining access to the rave and managing those who were leaving in a safe manner.

"Reports suggest there were more than 700 people at the location overnight.

"No arrests were made and officers worked closely with partner agencies including Rutland County Council who were aware of the activity."

Party-goers were still at the site on Sunday afternoon.
