Leicester Tigers supporters in Oakham and Uppingham will be able to take advantage of a one-off bus service to and from Welford Road for this weekend's Premiership Rugby Cup fixture against Northampton Saints.

Derby Day returns to Welford Road on Saturday (12 Oct) and following news the club would not be able to operate its Centrebus routes for the 2019/20 season, it has worked to provide an alternative for fans.

The T2 service from Oakham will be operated by Orbit coaches arriving at Welford Road for 2.30pm in time for the 3pm kick-off.

And customers with a 2019/20 season ticket or match ticket can pre-book their return ticket for just 1p.

Details of the T2 service bus route and timings are:

Oakham to Tigers: Oakham Northgate (opposite The Wheatsheaf) 1.20pm, Preston (Kingfisher) 1.28pm, Uppingham (North Street East bus stop) 1.40pm, Tugby (Crossroads bus stop) 1.50pm, Houghton on the Hill (Rose & Crown) 2pm, Bushby (Bus stop at 913 Uppingham Road) 2.03pm, Leicester (St Joseph's Church, Uppingham Road) 2.06pm, Leicester (Merlyn Vaz Centre, Uppingham Road) 2.15pm, Welford Road 2.30pm

Return services will leave Welford Road at 6pm prompt and drop off fans where they were picked up pre-match.

Representatives from the club will take the opportunity over the next few matches to speak to passengers to find out how, and if, the club can make the service work long-term, with a view to identify costs and timings.

Chris Rose, head of brand at Leicester Tigers, said: "We understand that travel to and from Welford Road is one of the challenges our supporters have to overcome particularly when kick-off times change from Saturday afternoon.

"We want to offer our bus services for the long term, and if we are able to make them a success to expand the initiative to other routes."

You can guarantee your return travel for just 1p by clicking the red button below or calling the ticket office on 0116 319 8888.
