The Rutland First Responders logged an impressive 7,536 hours responding to medical emergencies and cased across the county in 2023.

Within these hours, they visited 1055 patients. They also spent 469 hours volunteering at local events and attending training courses.

Calls attended by the team included:

  • falls
  • abdominal pains
  • chest pains
  • DIB
  • breaks and dislocations
  • pregnancy complications
  • strokes
  • seizures
  • cardiac arrests

The Rutland Community First Responders are volunteers who give their time freely to help save lives in their community. Responders are everyday members of the general public who are trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillators and the treatment and control of a wide range of potentially life threatening conditions.

Outside of their commendable 7536 hours undertaken last year, the team also spent time with loved ones, tackled their own challenges and managed to squeeze in holidays and family events - all hard earned by the volunteer team.
