Rutland Council Portfolio Holder roles and responsibilities reorganised for 2024

The roles and responsibilities within Rutland County Council have been reorganised for 2024.
The Leader of Rutland County Council, Cllr Gale Waller, has begun the New Year by reorganising the roles of cabinet members within the Council to ensure that the structure better aligns with the delivery of future services.
The changes, although minor, bring together services that need to work closely together under the focus of one Portfolio Holder, whilst balancing priorities of the Council.
Cabinet members' responsibilities are now:
Leader of the Council, Cllr Gale Waller
- Policy & Strategy, Partnerships, Equalities and Diversity
Portfolio Holder for Governance and Resources - Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Andrew Johnson
- Finance, Digital, Law & Governance, Audit, Performance Management, Communications, Customer, HR
Portfolio Holder for Planning, Property and Economic Development, Cllr Paul Browne
- Planning, Property and Assets, Economic Development, Heritage and Visitor Economy,
Portfolio Holder for Transport, Environment and Communities, Cllr Christine Wise
- Highways & Transport, Community Safety, Environment and Climate Change, Waste, Communities
Portfolio Holder for Adults and Health, Cllr Diane Ellison,
- Health, Public Health, Adult Social Care and Safeguarding, Housing Options, Homelessness and Resettlement
Portfolio Holder for Children and Families, Cllr Tim Smith
- Children's safeguarding, Children's Social Care and Family Help, SEND and Inclusion, Learning and Skills
Leader of the Council, Cllr Gale Waller, said: "Although these changes to portfolio holders' responsibilities are minor they allow us to reflect current priorities and better places us to deliver services within our means."
