Principle Planning Officer
Annual
- Take over and progress planning applications part way through to determination.
- Lead on major planning applications, including complex industrial and residential projects.
- Undertake site visits within the county as required.
- Negotiate and monitor Section 106 agreements.
- Engage in public speaking and presentations on planning matters.
- Work closely with Elected Members, the public, and other stakeholders.
- Provide planning evidence at hearings and inquiries when required.
- Work independently and manage workload effectively, especially in a remote setting.
- Highly experienced in managing major planning applications.
- Self-reliant, well-organised, and confident working with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working remotely, with the ability to manage caseloads efficiently.
- Familiar with Idox Uniform software (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledgeable in:
- Local government procedures and practices.
- Current planning issues, policy regulations, and legislation.
- Neighbourhood Planning processes.
- Skilled in public speaking, presenting planning matters, and working with Elected Members.
- Experienced in giving planning evidence at hearings and public inquiries.
- Initial induction will take place at our offices to introduce internal systems and processes.
- Majority of work can be carried out remotely, with office space available for those who prefer to work on-site more regularly.
- Must have access to transport and flexibility to travel within the area.
