After two months of lockdown, an Oakham florist is back in business.

Pollen floristry at 5 High Street launched a trial delivery service on Tuesday, offering non-contact deliveries from Tuesday to Saturday.

Owner Liz Leaper says its a big decision to come out of furlough, so she urges people to support her business by sending gifts through Pollen to loved and missed ones.

Orders can now be made over the phone, using the florist's webshop or in a new development, using social media on Facebook messenger or instagram messaging.

Liz told Nub News after the re-opening: "It was so hard to know when to start again, so we are delighted at the response!

"Local people really are supporting us and we have been honoured to deliver messages of love and flowers to cheer friends and family in such difficult times - flowers say it all!!

She added: "With all the weddings being postponed, we are grateful for local support. We have changed our webshop to reflect the availability of flowers, to allow smaller purchases and to support local growers.

"We hope to open the shop soon to customers, with one person at a time, new hygiene measures and social distancing. We miss the regulars who have become friends!"
