Details for Oakham in Bloom's annual quiz night have been released.

On Saturday 29 October, the group of local gardening volunteers will be hosting their annual quiz night, open to the whole community.

Oakham in Bloom volunteers aim to improve the environment for people who visit or live in Oakham.

The group was formed in August 1997, and the committee consists entirely of volunteers and works in partnership with Oakham Town Council, Rutland County Council, schools and youth groups, voluntary organisations, residents and businesses.

They are involved in many projects around the town all year round, from planting baskets, containers and beds to bigger challenges such as the bypass roundabouts.

Their work is funded by generous sponsors, donations and lottery. Although they work on improving public land we get no monies from either Rutland County Council or Oakham Town Council.

As such, fundraising events such as this are essential in helping the group continue their hard work.

In light of this, the team from Oakham in Bloom are getting ready to host a quiz night with various trivia rounds and a fish and chip supper, all for just £12.50.

Attendees can enjoy a fish and chip supper or vegetarian option:

  • Fish and chips
  • Sausage and chips
  • Jacket potato with cheese and/or beans
  • Veggie burger
  • Onion rings

Please let the team know your preference when booking. If you have any food allergies please also add this to your booking, and the friendly team of volunteers will do their best to accommodate.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks, alcoholic or non alcoholic.

The event will go ahead on Saturday 28 October 2023, 7pm - 9pm, at Oakham's All Saints Church Hall.

Payment can be made by Cheque or Direct Debit.
