Leicestershire Police has issued a statement following a fatal collision outside Ketton on Friday 25th July.

Police were called to Ketton Road between the A6121 and North Luffenham at 7.20pm on Friday evening where a black Vauxhaul Astra had collided with a tree.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man, who was in his 30s, had been pulled from the car by a witness and the car was on fire.

The Police, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service all attended the scene but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

DS Jack Cornick from Leicestershire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: 'We have the account of one witness, but we know this black Astra was driving behind another car.

"I'd like to speak to the driver of that car to see whether they have any helpful information about the collision.

"I'd also like to speak to anyone who saw the Astra as it was leaving Ketton and who may have dashcam footage of the car. Any small piece of information may be helpful."
