Today, 2 March, Rutland County Council (RCC) have announced that 349 out of 355 applicants have been offered a place in their preferred school for 2023.

Ahead of this year's National Offer Day for secondary school admissions, 1 March 2023, Rutland County Council processed 355 applications for Rutland resident children, with 353 receiving the offer of a place from one of their preferred secondary schools.

This means that 99 per cent of children in Rutland, who are due to start secondary school in September 2023, have been offered places at either their first, second or third preference school.

This is the second year in a row that we have been able to achieve 99% and remains higher than the national average.

The remaining one per cent have been offered an alternative secondary school.

In total, 98 per cent of Rutland children received an offer at their first preference school this year – significantly higher than the national average of 83.3 percent for admissions in September 2022.
