A1 in Lincolnshire and Rutland faces overnight closures

3rd Feb 2021 | Local News

The A1 in Lincolnshire and Rutland faces overnight closures this month and into March so vital repairs can be carried out.

A spokesman for Highways England told Nub News: "We're carrying out essential road maintenance, resurfacing sections of the carriageway, refreshing road markings and renewing road studs.

"Once work is complete, drivers will benefit from improved road safety and smoother journeys.

"Work on both the northbound and southbound A1 carriageways between Stamford and Newark started on 16 November and, due to the recent poor weather, will continue until mid-March.

"To minimise disruption to motorists we're working overnight from Monday to Friday, between 8pm and 6am."

Further details of the roadworks, with times and locations, can be found here, as Nub News previously reported.
