Anglian Water customers could be fined up to £1,000 for breaking hosepipe ban

Anglian Water have said they could fine customers up to £1,000 for not complying with restrictions in place with hosepipe ban.
On Friday 10 July, Anglian Water announced they would be introducing the first hosepipe ban since 2012, coming into place from 1am on Saturday 11.
Since then, Anglian Water have published an update outlining how they will be enforcing the restrictions.
The restrictions bans the use of hosepipes for the following:
- watering your garden,
- watering plants,
- washing your car,
- cleaning patios and driveways,
- cleaning walls and windows,
- filling paddling pools, swimming pools, hot tubs, ponds or ornamental fountains,
- cleaning private leisure boats
According to Anglian Water: 'Customers who do not comply with the restrictions may be committing an offence under the Water Industry Act 1991 and may, on conviction, be liable to a fine of up to £1,000.
