Burglars broke into Boots in Oakham and escaped with a huge haul estimated to be worth £12,500 from the High Street store.

The thieves got into the shop by forcing a back door sometime overnight on the weekend of Saturday, 5 and Sunday, 6 October.

They made off with a large quantity of perfumes and razors and razor blades.

Leicestershire Police is appealing to any shop or property behind Boots with CCTV to scan footage from around 10.30pm on the Saturday night and get in touch if they spot anything suspicious.

The investigating team believes the thieves may have used a silver-coloured vehicle.

Anyone with information should telephone 101 quoting crime reference 19*532898.
