On Friday 26 January, Oakham Rugby Football Club (ORFC) will be hosting a Burns Night Supper to support a tour event for the junior members.

Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of Scotsman Robert Burns.

Burns Night itself marks the anniversary of Robert Burns' birth on 25 January 1759, and the traditional Burns Supper is an evening event that celebrates his life and work. History can trace its origins back to nine of Burns' close friends who decided to get together to mark the fifth anniversary of their friend's death

ORFC will be marking the event in style as they always do, with a piper and ceilidh, traditional two course dinner, raffle and silent auction.

Tickets cost £59, and can be purchased on the ORFC website or by scanning the QR code on the event flyer:

The event will help raise funds for the 2024 U9 - U12 Mini and Junior Tour, which will see the club's young players enjoy a team trip to help bonding, give the young players a break and encourage the local grassroots teams to join the flourishing club.
