A car crashed into an appliance shop in Oakham High Street on Friday, causing disruption and damage but thankfully no serious injuries.

Police were called to the scene just before 2.45pm on Friday 26 January after a car collided with Knights of Oakham, an appliance shop located on the bustling high street.

The extent of the damage to the shop is not yet known, but photos from the scene show a police cordon in place around the area. It is believed that the car came to a stop after hitting the shop wall.

No one was reported to be injured in the incident, although it is possible that some people may have been shaken up by the collision.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Oakham High Street shortly before 2.45pm today following reports of a road traffic collision.

"The incident involved a car and a shop. No one was reported to be injured.

"The area has been cordoned off while we investigate the cause of the collision.

"Anyone with information can contact Leicestershire Police on 101 quoting incident 363."
