Climate change activists are holding a public talk in Oakham next month.

'Heading For Extinction - And What to do About it' is being staged by Extinction Rebellion Stamford, with Victoria Valentine and Ben McGrorty sharing the latest climate science on where our planet is heading and explain what we can do about it.

The talk is being held on Saturday, 11 January at The Scout Hut, Grampian Way, from 7pm until 9pm.

Victoria said: "The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the fastest mass extinction event this planet has ever experienced.

"Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown.

"This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.

"Come along to find out the truth of what is facing us and how we can all work together to stop the looming catastrophe."

Tickets for the talk are free, although there will be a donation box to help cover the cost of hiring the venue.
