Coronavirus crisis: 8 more cases in Rutland today

There have been eight cases of Coronavirus reported in Rutland today.

As is often the case, there were also no new deaths to report.

The UK coronavirus dashboard showed cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire increased by 107, another 42 in North Lincolnshire, and 41 in North East Lincolnshire, giving 190 for Greater Lincolnshire.

Rutland increased its number by 8 to 191, still one of the better rates in the coubntry.

NHS figures also confirmed one death of a COVID-positive patient in United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust facilities today.

The government's death tally, which includes those both in and out of hospitals and those of residents in hospitals outside the county, also showed two new deaths in its figures for Lincolnshire.

Nationally, cases increased by 17,540 to 561,815 while deaths increased by 77 to 42,592.

Greater Lincolnshire reports 5,570 cases (up 190)

3,872 in Lincolnshire (up 107)

1,183 in North Lincolnshire (up 42)

515 in North East Lincolnshire (up 41)

The 3872 for Lincolnshire is equivalent to 508.7 cases per 100,000 of population.

This compares with an England average of 853.9 cases per 100,000 of population, based on its 480,656 cases.

Leicester now reports 7655 cases, or 2161.1 per 100,000. This is an increase of 98 since yesterday.

This figure gives a rate more than four times that of Lincolnshire and almost five times that of South Kesteven. It is more than five times the Rutland rate.

Leicestershire now has 5569 confirmed cases, giving a rate of 752.2 cases. This stems from a massive increase of 178 since yesterday.

Melton is up 16 to 320 today, with a rate today of 624.9 cases per 100,000.

Peterborough is up 43 to 2004 or 990.8 cases per 100,000.

Rutland is up 8 today, at 191, giving it a rate of 478.4 cases per 100,000.

South Holland is up11 at 798, with a rate of 839.8 cases per 100,000.

And South Kesteven is up 36 today at 712, giving it a rate of 499.9 cases per 100,000.

In the region, Rutland remains on 13 deaths.

Melton remains on 20 deaths.

South Kesteven remains in 52 deaths.

Leicestershire is up 1 to 402 deaths.

Leicester remains on 283 deaths.

Greater Lincolnshire reports 406 deaths (up two)

280 from Lincolnshire (up one)

90 from North Lincolnshire (no change)

36 from North East Lincolnshire (no change)

Across the UK, there are 544,275 and 42,515 deaths.
