Alicia Kearns, MP for Rutland and Melton and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, said: "The support given to culture by the Government is unprecedented, and to see over £109,000 being awarded to cultural institutions in Rutland and Melton. This takes the total in grants and loans to our community to almost £1 million – an extraordinary investment.

"This will help Rocks by Rail, Symphotech, Pinders Circus at St Mary's, Melton survive and thrive as we recover from the pandemic.

"As PPS to the Culture Department, I have been pushing for money to come to our corner of the East Midlands.

"Culture is good for the soul. I can't wait to be able to visit these organisations in the near future!"

Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden, said: "Our record breaking Culture Recovery Fund has already helped thousands of culture and heritage organisations across the country survive the biggest crisis they've ever faced.

"Now we're staying by their side as they prepare to welcome the public back through their doors - helping our cultural gems plan for reopening and thrive in the better times ahead."
