One of Oakham's oldest residents had a birthday with a difference at the weekend.

With the lockdown in place, the lady known only as 'Margot' was unable to have family and friends for her 100th birthday.

Instead, the police were invited and so were the fire brigade.

Oakham Police said on twitter: " We received a message so having some time we attended as well to celebrate with the lady."

Police also thanked Oakham fire brigade for also turning up.

Oakham Police added: "During these times and if we have the capacity we want to be able to celebrate but also support people wherever possible. Drop us a message and we will do our best to attend."
