No new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Rutland today.

However, the county reported one new case yesterday, putting the total number of confirmed cases in Rutland at 25.

This amounts to a rate of 63 cases per 100,000 of population, the fourth best rate in the country of all districts.

This afternoon Lincolnshire Hospitals also reported no new deaths today.

NHS England also reported just one new case in Lincolnshire, but none in South Kesteven.

The numbers confirm recent downward trends for the pandemic, which today also saw the nationwide death toll increase by its lowest amount since March.

They come as Prime Minister Boris Johnson will address the nation at 7pm this evening, outlining a 'roadmap' for the easing of the government-imposed lockdown.

NHS England says Lincolnshire now has a total of 917 cases, giving it a rate of 121.3 cases per 100,000 of population.

England, with 135,982 cases overall, has a national rate of 242.9 cases per 100,000.

Among the districts, South Kesteven also had no new cases reported today, giving it a total of 145 cases and a rate of 102.2.

Melton saw an increase of one to 56 with a rate of 109.6.

North Kesteven also remains on 121, with a rate of 104.3.

Peterborough remains at 295, with a rate of 146.7.

South Holland remains at 132 cases and a rate of 140.5.

Nationally, the total number of cases in the UK increased by 3,923 to 219,183.

The number of deaths increased by 269 to 31,855, the lowest increase since March.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust told Nub News this afternoon it had no reported deaths today.

Yesterday, it reported the death of a 77-year-old woman with a pre-existing condition, which put its total number of deaths at its hospitals at 117.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust again gave no update on its figures today.

When it did so a week ago, Peterborough City Hospital had experienced 64 deaths and Hinchingbrooke 35 so far.
