Health chiefs are recruiting across Rutland and Leicestershire and elsewhere to help with the vaccine roll-out.

The nationwide move follows hospitals starting to administer the Pfizer jab last week and a hospital vaccination hub at Leicester General Hospital starting vaccinations on Saturday December 12,

The Leicester General Hospital vaccination hub is the first of what will be a range of sites across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as further supplies of the vaccine become available.

There are thousands of roles available nationally as Covid-19 Vaccination Programme Vaccinator. The job will last 3-6 months and pays £10.09-£11.19 an hour.

Previous medical experience is not needed but people with clinical, care or first aid experience are being prioritised in the first wave of applications.

All vaccinators will receive training and their role will primarily be administering the jab into a person's shoulder muscle.

There are positions available in two related roles in immunisation: for a registered health care professional and clinical supervisors, paying at least £12.74 and £16.04 an hour respectively.

Recruitment is being led by NHS Professionals, a government wing that supplies temporary workers for the National Health Service.
