Coronvirus crisis: Rutland's official government figures still show county on 12 confirmed cases

The official government figures for Rutland once more shows the county having just 12 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Public Health England once more issued the figures this afternoon , which list the number of cases that has tested positive with the illness at hospital.

As always, the figures do not include cases at care homes or individual homes, suggesting the 'real' figure is somewhat higher.

As Nub News reported earlier, they are based on where the patients come from, rather than the location of the hospital they are treated in.

Meanwhile four more deaths have been recorded at Greater Lincolnshire hospitals today (Monday), with two recorded by the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and two by the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust.

In Lincolnshire, 76 patients have now died at ULHT hospitals and 585 tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 35 people have died in northern Lincolnshire's hospitals.

The trusts say all the patients who died at Lincolnshire's hospitals have had underlying health conditions.

This afternoon, ULHT said two patients died at its hospitals over the past 24 hours after testing positive with the virus,

A spokesperson for ULHT said: "The patients were a man aged 86 and a woman aged 90. Both had underlying health conditions.

The official figures appear to be showing fewer numbers of deaths since last week, with ULHT recording two deaths a day since Thursday when its hospitals suffered four fatalities.

The trust runs hospitals at Grantham, Boston, Lincolns and Louth, but won't comment on where the fatalities occurred.

The trust reported its biggest death toll on April 3, when eight deaths were confirmed.

Nearly all patients were typically aged over 70 and with existing conditions.

Today, the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospitals at Stamford, Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke, reported 28 extra deaths over the past week.

Peterborough City saw an increase from 26 to 43 and Hinchingbrooke saw an increase from 19 to 30 compared to a week ago.

Meanwhile, Public Health England has again issued its daily tally, which appear to suggest a slow down in deaths and the number of confirmed cases.

The figures do not include those with the illness at home or in care homes, but who have been tested and are in hospital.

Overall, Lincolnshire saw the number of confirmed cases increase by one to 585.

Leicestershire saw numbers increase by 29, increasing from 678 to 707.

North East Lincolnshire also saw an increase of one to 92.

North Lincolnshire saw an increase from 167 to 171.

Peterborough went up one to 137.
