The Cottesmore Hunt is seeking a meet in Oakham on Boxing Day.

The hunt has requested a gathering in Cutts Close.

The controversial matter is on the agenda of Oakham Town Council , which will stage a 'full' meeting tomorrow (Wed 9th) evening.

No further details are given, but the public can still 'attend' the 'virtual' meeting.

Town Clerk Alison Greaves told Nub News that people can email questions to her and she can pass them on to councillors.

Alternatively, people can join the meeting using Zoom and they can also talk for three minutes on this or any other item on the agenda.

Mrs Greaves added that as yet, no-one has submitted any opposition to the December 26 event, but she had received an email regarding a 'risk assessment' of it.

The Cottesmore Hunt says it has operated for more than 350 years.
