The date for the annual Rutland Lions fireworks display has been announced by the charity group.

The Lions Club of Rutland was created in 1975 and is a small but important part of the International Association of Lions Clubs, the largest service organisation in the world with 44,500 Clubs in 205 countries, and with a total of 1.3 million members.

Both locally and nationally, they work hard supporting those who are less fortunate, and fundraise for groups and charities across Rutland helping adults, children, educators, mental health groups and other organisations.

Being a Rutland based club, they use most of their resources to support Rutlanders, and since 1975 have contributed many thousands of pounds each year to help local organisations and individuals.

This is why events such as their annual fire work display is so important, and so enthusiastically supported by local people. This year's event will be held on Saturday 4 November at Rutland Showground.

As usual, two fabulous displays from 1st Galaxy Fireworks will take place at Oakham Rugby Club.

The rugby club bar will be open, and visitors will be able to enjoy hot food from Roaming Giraffe Events, free children's rides and free entry for children under five.

Early Bird and discounted Family tickets are available online only.

On the day priced Single and Family entry tickets will be available at the entrance, via cash or card payment.

Disabled car parking is available at Rutland Showground. Other parking is available at Lands' End, Mecc Alte, Cabal and Tungsten Business Park. Please consider local residents and traffic congestion.

Gates open at 4.45pm, and the first display will take place at 6.15pm, and the second display will 'launch' at 7pm.
