A Rutland pub owned by Everards is on the hunt for a new landlord after 20 years in the hands of long-term owner, John.

Everards of Leicestershire is an independent, family brewer business based in Leicestershire. Chairman Richard Everard OBE DL is the fifth generation of his family to run the business since it was established by William Everard in 1849.

The company has more than 175 pubs across the East Midlands, which are all run as independent businesses, including The Wheatsheaf in Edith Weston, Rutland.

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Edith Weston, on the shore of Rutland Water, the Wheatsheaf is a charming stone pub with lots of character.

Not just a local's favourite, it's also a much-loved destination for those who are in search of hearty homemade meals, an impressive selection of hand-picked ales and exquisite wines.

The pub's location is one of its greatest assets. Situated just a ten-minute walk from the tranquil Rutland Water a popular tourist attraction, the pub attracts a diverse range of visitors, including cyclists, walkers, families, and water enthusiasts.

The current business owner, John, has taken "excellent care of the pub over the last 20 years and created a thriving business. However, he is now set to retire, which presents a rare opportunity to take over this well-established pub business in a prime location that you can put your own stamp on."

The pub boasts a main bar area that is divided by a snug, featuring a log burner at one end and a dining area at the other. The interior is tastefully decorated, with warm lighting adding to the cosy ambience.

The Wheatsheaf also has an outdoor area, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and relaxing with a drink or a meal. The patio area is currently fitted with a large marquee, providing additional space for this busy pub during the winter months. The large grassy garden is perfect for dog walkers and cyclists to rest their weary feet after a long stroll around Rutland Water or for families to enjoy on a sunny day.

This opportunity would be best suited to an experienced couple with catering experience, as food plays a significant role in the pub's success, attracting many visitors.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity, get in touch today here or call the Everards team on 0116 201 4260.

Alternatively, find the pub at 5 King Edward's Way, Edith Weston, Oakham, LE15 8EZ.
