A local café and deli has today, 24 August, celebrated its 12th birthday.

Otters Fine Foods has marked an impressive 12 years of business in Oakham.

Leo Sugden set up the store in 2011, and it has amassed a loyal following since, selling a range of local and artisan produce in store, as well as serving breakfast and lunch to regulars and visitors to the area.

The team also host occasional themed evenings, including a popular Greek Night and other late night soirees.

They were also recognised as runner-ups in the Rutland and Melton Independent Shop Awards hosted by MP Alicia Kearns earlier this year.

The team marked the birthday on social media: "Happy 12 years of Otters!

"Leo opened the doors to Otters 12 years ago today and what a journey it's been.

"Otters has achieved a lot in its 12 years and there's lots of new exciting projects in the works, we can't wait to show you what we have planned.

"Thank you to everyone who's supported us along the way."

Follow business owners and food and wine enthusiasts, Chris and Bianca from Ovation, wished the Otters team a happy birthday: "Happy Birthday to our good friends at Otters Fine foods. What an achievement, may you just keep growing and growing."
