Empingham's The White Horse has earned a five star food hygiene rating upon reopening under new management.

The White Horse in Empingham had been shut for months following the vacation of the previous tenants, who were running the venue as a hybrid Italian restaurant and pub.

Reopening last week, on Thursday 6 July, The White Horse he seen a steady stream of customers popping in to try the new menu and beers on tap, as well as the family team behind the relaunch, Ian and Sam White.

The father and son duo had been running The Noel @ Whitwell since November, which only 1.5 miles up the road from The White Horse.

Since turning their attentions to the former 17th century courthouse in Empingham, they have received a great deal of support from the locals, who have sorely missed the pub while it has been closed.
