The Flying Scotsman passed through Oakham Station this morning, much to the delight of onlookers and local train enthusiasts.

The 100-year-old Steam Locomotive 60103, 'The Flying Scotsman', passed through Oakham this morning, and is set to return this evening, Wednesday 13 December 2023.

The Flying Scotsman officially turns 100 in 2024, despite being built and running since the late 1800s. When put on show at the British Empire Exhibition in London in 1924, she was given the number 4427 and named after the route running between London and Edinburgh - The Flying Scotsman.

This morning, the iconic locomotive steamed through Oakham, to the delight of many, who have sent in their images to us at Oakham Nub News.
