Global Birdfair has announced they will be returning to Rutland for their 2025 with their conservation project for 2025 focussing on Safeguarding Ocean Species.

This year's Global Birdfair will take place on 11th, 12th and 13rd at Lyndon Top Caravan Park near Rutland Water, with funds raised from the event being donated to Birdlife International.

The convention is the UK's biggest celebration for bird-lovers, bird watchers and nature enthusiasts to come together for a great cause, learn more from national and international organisations and meet likeminded people.

This year's conservation project will focus on the South Pacific region, raising awareness and filling critical gaps in the popular understanding of seabirds and the issues that affect them.

Their work will include educating visitors about: ways the fishing industry can mitigate seabird by-catch, methods to create more sustainable fisheries and eco-systems, and how communities and organisations can strengthen the livelihood of local people and empower women through training within the fishing industry.

There will also be a focus on biodiversity, creating resilient eco-systems and discussing the world's ocean habitats.

This year's line-up includes Owl Workshops, talks from award winning nature photographers, conservationists and writers, and activities for 'young conservationists.'

Tickets for Global Birdfair 2025 will go on sale in February, with updates posted on their website and Facebook page.
