A golfer from Greetham Valley GC has scooped the Lincolnshire Women's County Championships.

Greetham Valley were well represented at the Lincolnshire Women's County Championships at Holme Hall this weekend with six entrants and there were major successes for Ellie Haughton and Sophie Beardsall.

Sophie Beardsall qualified as the best gross and Ellie Haughton and Liz Haughton also qualified for the final 16 play-offs.

Liz lost to a local player in Round One but Sophie and Ellie qualified for the last eight.

Sophie lost to Ellise Rymer from Lincoln Golf Club in the semi-finals by 2 and 1 in a close match whilst Ellie won her semi-final 5 and 4.

In the afternoon final Ellie and Ellise played a fantastic match ultimately going to a 5th play-off hole before a winner could be found. Ellie rose to the top to be crowned Lincolnshire Women's County Champion.

On Sunday in the Butlin Trophy Greetham Valley's Dee Ginnity came 3rd.

There was further good news for Greetham as County Vice Captain Gilly Grant named her vice captain elect at the presentation ceremony and the club is delighted that it is another Greetham Valley stalwart Sophie Beardsall.
