Healthwatch Rutland has announced new drop-in dates to allow residents to have their say on local healthcare.

People's health services questions can be answered at drop-in sessions at two locations.

The events will be at:

Oakham Castle, off Market Place, Oakham LE15 6DX – Wednesday 7 February from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Tixover House Care Home, Tixover, PE9 3QN (Community coffee morning – free refreshments provided) – Thursday 8 February from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Similar drop-in sessions were held by Healthwatch Rutland over Christmas.

Hollie Hughes, community engagement officer for the group, said: "After giving an overview of Healthwatch Rutland's role, we chatted individually and in small groups about local health and social care experiences, and were able to answer lots of questions about health-related services across Rutland.

"If you have a health or social care experience you would like to share or want to find out about volunteer opportunities with Healthwatch, come along and say hello – we'd love to see you."

Healthwatch Rutland is the public's NHS health and social care champion. The organisation wants to hear the experiences of anyone who uses GPs and hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, care homes or other NHS support services in the county.

As an independent statutory body, Healthwatch Rutland has the power to make sure NHS leaders and other decision-makers listen to feedback, and can then improve standards of care.
