Met Office has issued weather warnings for Rutland with heavy rain and high wind predicted to hit the county on New Years Eve.

Winds of over 50 mph and heavy rain are predicted to arrive late on New Years Eve, with weather worsening from 9am New Years Day to 6am the following day (Thursday 2nd January).

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for heavy rain and high wind during this period. Travel by road and rail are likely to be impacted as well as the possibility of roads and bridges closing due to high winds. There may also be temporary loss of power in some areas.
