Historic Oakham pub gets new owners

A historic Oakham pub has new owners.
The Lord Nelson in Market Place has been taken over, along with three other pubs owned by Knead Pubs in Bourne, Newark and Stamford.
An announcement of the deal has been posted on the websites of the pubs that have been taken over.
It said: "KNEAD Pub Group is no longer the owner of the following venues:
Smith's of Bourne, LincolnshireThe Jubilee Garage, Bourne, Lincolnshire
The Lord Nelson, Oakham, RutlandThe Prince Rupert, Newark, Nottinghamshire
"The four pubs have been acquired by the newly launched RedCat pub company fronted by Rooney Anand ex CEO of Greene King.
"Please be assured that all current bookings will be honoured and if you do need to contact sites individually please email or call.
"We are expecting a very smooth transition and to help it be as smooth as possible for the next 4 weeks the above venues will be accepting all KNEAD Gift cards.
"However as our KNEAD loyalty points scheme is unique to our business these can only be redeemed through our Stamford sites: The Crown Hotel, Paten & Co and The Tobie Norris."
The Lord Nelson dates back to the 16th Century and is in the Good Pub Guide.
In the meantime, the pub has announced on Facebook that it is seeking Front of House staff.
