A local designer has been working with Mile Tree Brewery, and together they are raising the 'bar' in local branding and beer.

The Peterborough-based Mile Tree Brewery was founded by local couple, Richard and Karen in 2012, and has been a family run business since, creating blonds, ruby beers, stouts and other tipples popular across the country.

One of these is Rolling Mile, a classic beer with a classic look – a look that they can accredit to a Stamford-based graphic designer, Chris Bryant.

The team employed the services of Chris Bryant Creative design when they decided that their old logo was dragging the business, and the profit of the company, down.

Headed up by Chris himself, Chris Bryant Creative Design aims to meet the branding and online needs of local shops, organisations and individuals in a tailored and personal way, providing a range of creative design services to help you reach your target audience both online and in person.

Chris explained: "Mile Tree Brewery has been my biggest project to date."

Chris Bryant Creative Design is a one man band, so Chris handled the whole design process for Mile Tree Brewery, meaning that the finished result really was a personal project from start to finish.

"I started working on the logo, and then designed the pump clip for Rolling Mile." He laughed, "I actually put myself out of work with them originally by setting up and illustratable logo that they could edit themselves, but that was the best thing for them, and I am incredibly passionate about supporting small businesses."

Chris added: "That got the ball rolling for Richard and Karen, and allowed them to make a successful and recognisable brand, something that I am incredibly passionate about."

Chris added: "My design process was transparent throughout the whole project. It started with a chat, when we discussed the business requirements, what the client wants to achieve and what inspires them.

"After the project has reached fulfilment it doesn't end there, as I continue to provide support to clients in brand guardianship, to manage and maintain the brand or visual identity both online and in print."

The services on offer at Christ Bryant Creative Design include:

  • Graphic Design (branding and visual identity)
  • Animation (motion graphics)
  • Website Design (prototyping and development)
  • Website Support
  • Social Media and Content Creation
  • Illustration (digital/vector/raster)
  • Photography (image editing and retouching)
  • 3D Design (visualisations)
  • Videography (video editing)
  • Brand Guardianship

Working with Mile Tree Brewery, as well as other Stamford-based businesses such as The Green Quarter, Balanced by Bowen and Green Group, has encouraged Chris to put out a call to local entrepreneurs who want a personalised design for their business without the expense.

Chris said: "There are so many independent businesses and charities in Stamford and I have noticed how unaffordable services can be for the owners, ultimately limiting their scope and making times – that are already tough – even harder.

"With tailor-made branding and design, your business will develop a clear identity and become a recognisable space within the local community," he explained.

Chris said that if this is something your business needs, then he can help, adding: "I am experienced in branding and brand development, developing the creation of strong brand stories and embedding them into a range of mediums. I can cover Graphic Design, Photography, Animation, Motion Graphics, Web Design, Videography, Illustration, 3D amongst other forms of creativity."

Chris isn't only a business owner himself, but lectures at Stamford College, is entering the final year of his Masters in September and is excited to have a baby on the way. This means that he only has time to really dedicate himself to a few new clients, so get in now while he still has space.

He said: "I work best being busy, but want to be able to offer clients everything they need, so am trying not to take on too much. It's all about finding a balance, which I am sure other local business owners will understand!"
