Oakham and Melon based charity Pepper's A Safe Space is in need of new volunteers to help them make a real important difference in the community. 

Pepper's A Safe Space is a local charity, situated on the High Street in Oakham as well as having a branch in Melton, and offers free mental health and wellbeing support for adults in a warm, welcoming environment.

Volunteers are at the heart of what makes Pepper's such a magical place and volunteering has huge mental health benefits for those involved as well. 

For example, according to a report by Time Well Spent, 77% of volunteers reported that volunteering improved their mental health and wellbeing, as well as 53% reporting a benefit to their physical health as well. 

New volunteers at Pepper's will be welcoming new members to drop-in sessions, support activities like crafts or gardening, and offer a listening ear to those who need it over a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit or two.
