Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust are inviting local nature-lovers to get involved in their new fundraising challenge The Big Wild Walk. 

They hope to raise essential funds for their conservation and environmental work, as well as encourage local people to reconnect with nature and get moving. 

The Wildlife Trust is challenging individuals or groups to walk 30km between Friday 17th October and Monday 3rd November, raising funds to protect local wildlife. 

The way participants go about the challenge is entirely their choice – do it all in one long hike or space out short walks over the two weeks. 

They hope this will simultaneously encourage people to get the well-being benefits of spending time in nature, as well as the health benefits of spending time moving your body outdoors.
