The team at Baker's Dozen Brewing Co in Ketton have picked up a clutch of Gold awards at a recent SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) Competition.

Dean and Jill Baker opened the brewery in 2015, and have since gone on to receive huge acclaim for their beers, including CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Premium Pale Ale Winner in 2023 and a silver award at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) National Keg Competition.

The husband and wife team have started this year on similar form, picking up multiple awards at both the SIBA East Bottle and Can Competition and Keg Beer Awards.

At the Bottle and Can Competition, they were awarded:

  • Gold: Spanish Inquisition, Red IPA - 5.4%

At the Keg Beer Awards they won:

  • Gold: Acoustic Landlady, Session Pale Ale - 3.4%
  • Gold: Undertow, Session NEIPA - 4.8%
  • Gold: Pit Lane Project, Cherry Sour 4.3%

They also bagged two silver awards for Phantasmagoria, IPA - 6.5%, and 50 ft Queenie, Double IPA - 7.5%.

To top off this shower of awards, the following day the brewery was also named East Midlands CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Winners yet again for their Electric Landlady, 5.0% Mosaic hopped pale ale.

Dean and Jill said: "It's been a crazy couple of weeks! We're both really proud of the beers we're brewing at the moment, and to keep getting this recognition is brilliant.

"The fact that both Undertow and Electric Landlady are winning these awards year on year shows that we're consistently getting things right, which is something we work really hard to achieve."

Baker's Dozen Brewing will now have all four of their gold winning beers entered into the SIBA National Beer Competition final which takes place in Liverpool in March.

The added: "It would be amazing to get placed in the top 3 again this year, but we're challenging the very best breweries in the country and we're just happy to say that we've reached a level that puts our beers on the same judging table".

All of these award winning beers can be sampled at the brewery in Ketton on 17 and 18 February, when the brewery hosts its next pop-up-tap weekend.
