A woman discovered a man standing in the open doorway of her Ketton home on Thursday (9 Jan) afternoon...claiming he thought her cottage was the pub.

The householder was upstairs shortly before 2pm when she heard someone call out.

She found the front door, which had been closed but not locked, open and a man standing in the doorway.

The householder told police the intruder asked her if he was 'in the pub' and then left hurriedly - getting into a small grey car and driving off.

The man is described as between 20 and 30 years old, white, with a pale complexion, 'bad teeth', and curly reddish hair. He was wearing a black jacket, trousers, trainers and a cap.

Anyone with information about the intruder or the vehicle - or has CCTV footage - should contact Leicestershire Police on 101 quoting crime reference 20*016105.
