Ketton's Green Festival will return this weekend.

On Sunday 11 June as part of the Great Big Green Week, Ketton Green Festival is back. The Great Big Green Weekend is the UK's biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

The Green Festival will see a number of Ketton's community groups coming together to organise an afternoon of fun-filled activities for visitors of all ages.

This year's Festival will have a watery theme. There will be river-based activities (river dipping for invertebrates and testing samples for phosphates and nitrates), plus land-based activities related to water conservation and pollution.

There will also be activities and information on a broad range of other topics related to fighting climate change and protecting nature (e.g., gardening, composting, recycling, and electric vehicles) and there will be experts in the field of home renewable energy solutions in attendance, providing advice on a range of options including solar panels, heat pumps and EV charging points.

David Lewis from the Ketton Climate Action Group commented: "We were delighted with how the inaugural Green Festival was received last year, with lots of families coming out to join in. We quickly decided to repeat the event this year, with more activities and more information available from experts in their respective disciplines. While the challenge of fighting climate change can seem overwhelming, we hope that events like Ketton's Green Festival will inspire people to believe that individual actions can make a difference."

The Ketton Green Festival will run from 2pm to 4pm at Hall Close in Ketton and entry is free of charge.

There is no parking available at Hall Close so people are asked to walk or cycle to the Festival wherever possible. Anyone coming by car is asked to show consideration for local residents when deciding where to park.

Pedestrian access to Hall Close from Ketton High Street is via Bull Lane.

See you there!
