Leicestershire and Rutland Police Constable appears in court charged with rape

A serving police officer has appeared in court charged with raping a woman.
Stephen Reynolds, who serves with the Leicestershire and Rutland force, is accused of two counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration.
Today (Wednesday 7 January), the 28-year-old appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court for his first appearance.
The allegations relate to one adult female victim dating back to 2019.
The officer is currently suspended from the force.
Reynolds was granted conditional bail and the case was adjourned until 18 February when he will next appear at Northampton Crown Court.
Leicestershire Police did not release Reynolds' full address, stating only that he lives in Leicestershire.
