Rutland-based band 'The RAW Collective' are hosting a party to launch their debut album this Friday, 21 April, at Ovation on Gaol street.

The Raw Collective regularly perform at Ovation, a bar and eatery owned and run by husband and wife duo, Chris and Bianca Nix.

This Friday, the band will be hosting a particularly special performance at the popular wine and spirit bar to celebrate the launch of the debut album, titled 'The Game'.

The band formed originally in 2020, and have been performing in venues around the area since the lockdowns eased.

As a 'Collective', they are also a support network for local musicians and friends and welcome collaboration and community.

Their sound is a mixture of Rock, Blues and Country, with influences coming from the likes of US Band Rival Sons and Bruce Springsteen.

Their debut album, recorded at Lockdown Studios, Melton is Titled 'The Game' and is comprises of 9 original songs (written by Guitarist Wayne Kelly), as well as 2 special covers.

Highlights on the album include a 3 part story 'The Game, The Hunt, The Fall', and upbeat songs like 'Fire' and 'Catch You When You're Falling'.

Lead singer, Adam Clark, explained: "The album launch is a a huge achievement and a celebration of how we have all grown together and supported each other. We will be playing these songs live throughout the summer in music venues and festivals. However, we are already looking forward to an album of live song recordings, from our performances on 'Peterborough's Most wanted' due out late Summer. We are also halfway through writing the second Originals Album, due out early 2024."

It is a non-ticketed event and everyone is welcome, so see you there!
