A local brewery team is getting game read ahead of the rugby six Nations.

The Grainstore Brewery is bringing back a popular seasonal beer, Calcutta, ready for the Six Nations, which kicks off in February.

The Six Nations Championship, known as the Guinness Six Nations, is an annual international men's rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The current champions are Ireland, who won the 2023 tournament.

France and Ireland will kick off this year's tournament on 2 February in Marselle.

However, the game will be streamed at a host of local pubs, who cater to a local audience who are always hungry to enjoy rugby - a sport that is popular for players and spectators in Rutland.

These venues include The Crown Tavern, Bills Bar and The Grainstore among others.

In honour of the tournament, The Grainstore team have been hard at work brewing their signature sports beer, Calcutta.

The beer showcases a combination of English, European and American hops whose flavours give a taste and aroma to the beer which produces subtle thirst quenching drinkability.
