The Oakham Ales Tap Take Over has launched today, Monday 22 January, at The Captain Noel Newton in Oakham.
Oakham Ales was founded in 1993, and sells consistent classics and seasonal beers both online and at a range of Oakham-based pubs and venues.
While they don't claim to be the first brewery to introduce light, hoppy beers to the UK, the team is proud to be amongst the very first to pioneer the use of hops from the USA and the New World.
Back in 2010, they were the first UK brewery to brew a beer with 100% Citra® hops, and Oakham Citra® is now not only their top seller but also an acknowledged UK brewing trailblazer.
JHB, Inferno, Bishops Farewell and the multi award-winning Green Devil IPA join Citra® in the current Oakham core range and are supplemented by monthly cask seasonals and specials and an ever-changing line-up of strong cask aged beers - many of which you will be able to try at this week's tap takeover.
Twenty years after Oakham Ales launched, The Captain Noel Newton opened its doors on Oakham High Street, and has been welcoming patrons for the last 11 years to enjoy a wide range of beers from across the world.
As well as serving popular classics, the team frequently welcome local breweries to the taps, and also take part in the Rutland CAMRA Ale Trail each summer, promoting local beer and cider.
Their most current event showcasing local beer launches today, 22 January, and will be taking place until Sunday 28 January.
The team also have Marcus, The Oakham Ales Rep, popping in at the venue on Wednesday at 7pm.
