An Oakham-based cafe has joined the 'Chatty Cafe Scheme' to help combat loneliness.
Passionate about wellbeing and mental heath, Rutland Refill have joined the non-profit organisation and will be hosting regular sessions to help and support Rutland residents.
The team joined the schemed on 15 May, coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Week, 15 - 21 May. The scheme will be running every week going forwards.
The aim of the scheme is to tackle loneliness, and friendly volunteers will always join in for a nice chat.
The venue will have a table available from Monday to Saturday, 10-1pm and 2-3pm.
What is The Chatty Cafe Scheme?
The Chatty Café Scheme is the UK's leading non-profit organisation tackling loneliness.

- Online Chatty Cafe Sessions held every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1pm – 1:30pm. Anyone over 18 can join, simply to chat to others.
- Telephone Friendship Service for anyone over 18 who is experiencing loneliness and could benefit from a weekly chat on the phone.
- Face to face meet ups where venues offer 'Chatter & Natter' tables, where customers can get together and chat. We have hundreds of venues around the UK, many Chatter & Natter tables are hosted by Chatty Table Volunteers - this is where Rutland Refill come in.
They will be offering a space from Monday to Saturday where residents can pop in and sit, chat and catch up over a coffee, cake or other tasty treat from their new menu - also launched this week.
On top of this, the eco-friendly store will still be stocking and selling environmentally and cost effective dried goods, cleaning products health and beauty items, as well as food and drinks.
They also stock a range of locally produced handmade items for you to browse and buy.
