Local cat rescue get ready for kitten season with Wish List appeal

A Rutland-based cat rescue are getting ready for kitten season with an appeal for items off of their Amazon Wish List.

Nine and a Half Life Cat Rescue are appeal for items ahead of kitten season, when cat rescue centres and rehoming shelters are at their business.

Nine and a Half Lives Cat Rescue is a self funded cat rescue based in Rutland area, fostering and helping to provide homes for local cats.

They engage with feral colonies, rehabilitating sick or feral cats, as well as those with behavioural problems. fostering and ensuring that cats that are in need of a home are given a safe environment until a suitable home can be found.

Now they are appealing for help from the public to donate a selection of items, or to get them sent to the centre directly from the team's Wish List:

  • Small scratch posts
  • Toys
  • Pellet litter
  • Kitten food
  • Laundry detergent of any kind

Matt Valins, of Nine and a Half Live Cat Rescue, said: "If anyone has the odd sachet of kitten food or biscuits, wood pellet cat litter, little scratching posts or any other bits spare its always gratefully received. Even if it's just a sachet or two, I'm always travelling around Oakham and the surrounding area either by bike or car so can plan a route and collect things easily enough. Thank you."

While with Nine and a Half Lives Cat Rescue, the cats spend their days either in a home environment or in the vet checked and approved cat cabin with plenty of fresh air, able to watch the birds and wildlife and have plenty of space to run and play.

All cats are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with worm and flea treatment.
