Throughout Mental Health Awareness Week 2023, set to take place from Monday 15 May to Sunday 21 May, an Oakham-based mental health charity will be hosting a range of events and activities open to all.

These will include their usual drop in sessions, a fundraising drive from the popular local organisation, Oakham book Swap, and other fundraising events and activities.

If you don't want to join any of their in person sessions, then there is always cake - lovingly made by staff and volunteers - at Oakham Market Place!

Pepper's - A Safe Place also run friendly and welcoming drop-in sessions and wellbeing activities for any adults who may be struggling with their Mental Health.

All adults are welcome to come and take a break, socialise, combat isolation, have fun and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

Development Manager, Pippa Gorman, said: "Loneliness is something that I'm sure we have all struggled with, especially throughout the pandemic. But many live with it everyday. We want to bring the community together, with a shared, safe and welcoming space for all, to chat, socialise, have fun and be less alone."

Pepper's - A Safe Place have been open for nearly 4 years, offering drop-in sessions for any adults struggling with their mental health or loneliness.

Pippa said: "Our sessions are open to all adults, you can take some time out in a relaxed environment, chat with others, have fun or just relax with a cup of tea.

"We encourage anyone in the community to come and have a chat with us during our market stalls or to pop into one of our sessions during the week. Even if it's not for you, it may be that a friend or family member would benefit from that social, relaxed and safe space that Pepper's can provide."
