A Rutland-based distillery has won multiple Great Taste awards.

Cap and Copper, established in 2022, is a local distillery with a focus on great rums. Among their top brews are a classic rum, spiced rum and cocoa rum.

After just over a year in trade, two of their rums have won Great Taste awards.

Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, Great Taste is organised by the Guild of Fine Food and values taste, production and presentation.

Now, the local distillery has been recognised.

They have won a one star award for their spiced rum and bagged three stars for their unique cocoa and dark chocolate rum.

The team, shared their news on social media: "We are now a multi award winning distillery."

"We have bagged ourselves not just one but two Great Taste awards. One star for our Original Spiced Rum, and a whopping three stars for our Cocoa & Dark Chocolate Spiced Rum.

"We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for your support so far, we are so proud of what we have managed to achieve in such a short space of time. None of this would be possible without you all."

Their spiced rum is flavoured with pepper and undertones of cinnamon, caramel and vanilla, while their cocoa rum hits with dark chocolate, spices and vanilla.

On top of this, lots of exciting things are coming for the brewery, including a new website and online shop launching soon.
