Stamford and Rutland Garden Maintenance Limited, a local horticultural gardening business based in Ketton, Rutland, is a Finalist for the official UK Small Business Awards for the Best Landscaping Business.

Jonathan Wheatley who owns and runs the business started the company in 2022 in local gardens before quickly moving onto larger private estates in villages in Rutland.

Jon said, 'I'm very proud of how far we've come, from a small side hustle to a full limited company in under four years, helping bring prestigious large gardens back to life.

'Being recognised by the UK Official Small Business Awards means a lot, and there's still a lot more to come with larger horticultural projects around the local area as well as show borders and gardens at shows such as The Rutland Flower Show 2026.'

As the business keeps on growing, Jon is more and more sought after in the gardening world with a long waiting list of clients.

However, he has no plans to add to his team, instead he believes offering his services on a more personal level means he can keep the quality to the highest level his clients expect.

'I think our client's appreciate they're always getting the best experience and qualifications from myself and my wife, Angela (who works for the company two days a week alongside her blossoming Floristry business,' Rutland Florals') and we are a local brand that people can trust with their gardens.'
